The classic Filipino pastime you grew up playing on weekend afternoons is now on PisoPlay. Fast rounds, fair games, and cash prizes waiting – Tara na, kabayan!
Play Tongits anytime, anywhere – even from the beaches of Siargao.
Ask any Filipino from Luzon, Visayas, or Mindanao and chances are they've played Tongits at a family reunion, a neighbourhood barkada hangout, or a lazy Sunday afternoon. It's one of the most genuinely Filipino card games around – born right here in the Philippines and played with a standard 52-card deck among three players.
The goal is straightforward: get rid of your cards by forming sets (three or more cards of the same rank) and sequences (three or more consecutive cards of the same suit), then either declare Tongits when you empty your hand, or have the fewest points when someone calls a draw. Simple to pick up, but there's real strategy once you get into it.
At PisoPlay, we've taken that same energy and translated it into a smooth digital experience – same rules, same thrill, but with proper payouts you can cash out straight to your GCash or Maya wallet.
Quick tip: Unlike most Western card games, Tongits rewards both aggressive melding and smart defensive play. Knowing when to "sagot" (respond to a draw call) is just as important as building your combinations fast.

Understanding card values is the first step to building a winning strategy. At PisoPlay, the standard Filipino Tongits scoring applies.
| Combination / Card | Points / Value | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Ace (A) | 1 point | Lowest-value card in Tongits – great to keep or meld quickly. |
| 2 – 9 | Face value | 2 is worth 2 points, 9 is worth 9 points, and so on. |
| Jack, Queen, King | 10 points each | High-value cards – best melded early or discarded if you're close to a draw call. |
| Three of a Kind / Set | Meld (0 penalty) | Three cards of the same rank placed face-up on the table. |
| Sequence / Straight Flush | Meld (0 penalty) | Three or more consecutive cards of the same suit, melded in order. |
| Tongits (empty hand) | Automatic win | Declared when a player discards their last card – beats a draw call outright. |
| Draw Call (Sagot) | Lowest points wins | Any player with at least one meld can challenge a draw. Fewest unmelded points wins. |
High-stakes tables at PisoPlay – where real Tongits mastery is tested.
Tongits isn't just about the cards you're dealt – it's about reading the game, watching what other players discard, and managing your risk. These tips come from experienced Filipino Tongits players who've been winning at PisoPlay tables consistently.
The moment you have a valid set or sequence, put it on the table. Unmelded cards in your hand count against you if a draw is called. Don't wait for the "perfect" meld – getting cards off your hand is almost always the right play.
If player two keeps throwing away hearts, they probably don't have a heart sequence going. Conversely, if they're holding on to middle-value cards for several turns, they might be one card away from a meld. PisoPlay's clean interface makes it easy to track the discard pile.
A well-timed draw call when you have a low unmelded hand (say, 4–8 points) and you suspect your opponents are sitting on high cards can win you the pot without going Tongits. This is called a "fight" – and it's one of the most satisfying plays in the game.
Jacks, Queens, and Kings are 10 points each. If you can't meld them within three or four turns, seriously consider discarding them. Getting caught with three face cards and a draw call is a quick way to lose your stack at any PisoPlay table.
If you're new to online Tongits or just testing a new strategy, PisoPlay's low-stakes tables are your best training ground. ₱50 buy-ins mean the risk is minimal while you find your rhythm before moving up.
